Description
Diethyl Carbonate is a colorless liquid with a mild pleasant odor. It is slightly less denser than water and insoluble in water. Hence floats on water. Flash point 25°C. Vapors are heavier than air. When heated to high temperatures it may emit acrid smoke. Used as a solvent.

Application
1. Mainly used as nitrocellulose, resin and some drugs (such as erythromycin) solvent, and organic synthesis (such as phenobarbital, pyrethrin) intermediates.
2. Diethyl carbonate finds application as solvent for lithium ion battery electrolytes. The use of high quality battery grade electrolytes having extremely low water (<10 ppm) and acid (<10 ppm) contents are critical for achieving high electrochemical performance.
Storge & Handling
Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat source. The warehouse temperature shall not exceed 37 ℃. Keep container sealed. It should be stored separately from oxidizing agents, reducing agents, acids and edible chemicals, and avoid mixed storage. Explosion-proof lighting and ventilation facilities shall be adopted. It is forbidden to use mechanical equipment and tools that are easy to produce sparks. The storage area should be equipped with leakage emergency treatment equipment and suitable containment materials.
Packing
200 L/Drum.
