Nadic Anhydride is a cyclic carboxylic acid anhydride with the molecular formula C9H8O3 and molecular weight of 164.16 g/mol. It is also known as Carbic Anhydride, cis-5-Norbornene-endo-2,3-dicarboxylic Anhydride, and 1,2,3,6-Tetrahydro-3,6-methanophthalic Anhydride.
The compound is a crystalline solid at room temperature and is commonly supplied as a white crystalline powder or crystalline material. As a reactive cyclic acid anhydride, Nadic Anhydride is used in epoxy resin curing and thermosetting resin formulations.

Applications of Nadic Anhydride
① Used in unsaturated resins; compared to resins made with phthalic anhydride or tetrahydrophthalic anhydride, it imparts superior air-drying properties, higher heat resistance, better surface finish, and enhanced electrical, corrosion-resistant, and mechanical properties.
② Used as a curing agent for epoxy resins in applications such as casting, lamination, and powder molding; the cured products exhibit excellent weather resistance, heat resistance, and electrical properties.
③ Used as a modifier for alkyd resins, urea-formaldehyde resins, melamine resins, etc.
④ Can be used in the production of insecticides, vulcanization regulators, plasticizers, surfactants, textile finishing penetrants, etc.
