Used as a stationary phase for chromatography, a solvent, a toughening agent, and a fixative for fragrances;

Used for the absorption of carbon dioxide from natural gas;
Used as a fragrance fixative, solvent, and toughening agent;
Used in the production of cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and dyes; also serves as a plasticizer for cigarette filter rods;
Used as a substrate for the determination of lipase, as a fragrance fixative, as a solvent, and as a stationary phase for gas chromatography (with a maximum operating temperature of 85°C; solvents used include methanol and chloroform) for the separation and analysis of gases and aldehydes.
Product Advantages
This product is non-toxic, non-irritating to the skin, and generally recognized as safe (FDA, 1985).
It is soluble in alcohols, ethers, benzene, chloroform, and castor oil, but insoluble in linseed oil.
It can dissolve nitrocellulose, cellulose acetate, acrylic resins, polyvinyl acetate, and similar substances.
It also exhibits a certain degree of solubility for natural rosin, but it is not miscible with polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polystyrene, or chlorinated rubber.
