Methylhexahydrophthalic Anhydride (MHHPA) is a cycloaliphatic anhydride curing agent widely used for curing epoxy resins. It provides good electrical insulation properties, thermal stability and mechanical performance in cured epoxy systems.
MHHPA is also known as Hexahydromethylphthalic Anhydride. Commercial grades may contain different isomer compositions depending on the manufacturing process and product specification.
Methylhexahydrophthalic Anhydride is commonly used in electrical and electronic encapsulation, casting compounds, insulating materials, adhesives, coatings and fiber-reinforced composite systems. It can be used with suitable accelerators to adjust curing speed and processing characteristics.

Applications of Methylhexahydrophthalic Anhydride
Mainly used as a curing agent for epoxy resins and as a raw material for polyurethane/polyester resins used in coatings.
It is mainly utilized in the electrical and electronics sectors, offering advantages such as a low melting point, low viscosity when formulated with alicyclic epoxy resins, a long pot life, high heat resistance in the cured product, and excellent high-temperature electrical properties.
It can be used for the impregnation of electrical equipment coils, the casting of electrical components, and the encapsulation of semiconductors—applications that include outdoor insulators, capacitors, LEDs, and digital devices.
