Cocamidopropyl Dimethylamine, CAS 68140-01-2, is a coco-based fatty amide amine and surfactant intermediate. It is also known as Amides, coco, N-[3-(dimethylamino)propyl], Cocoamidopropyl Dimethylamine and Cocoacyl Propyl Dimethylamine. The product is derived from fatty acids obtained from coconut oil and contains a mixture of fatty alkyl chain components.
Cocamidopropyl Dimethylamine is widely used in personal care and industrial formulations because of its surface-active, emulsifying and conditioning properties. Applications of Cocamidopropyl Dimethylamine
This product serves as an excellent flotation agent for quartz sand and a highly effective asphalt emulsifier. It is also used in paper waterproofing agents, corrosion inhibitors, and additives for petroleum products, and acts as an intermediate in the production of amine salts, amine oxides, betaines, and quaternary ammonium salts. Additionally, it finds application as an emollient, emulsifier, foaming agent, conditioning agent, and softening agent.
