Applications of Butyl Carbitol Acetate
Butyl Carbitol Acetate has a very high boiling point. It is primarily used as a high-boiling solvent for high-temperature baking enamels and printing inks, and also serves as a coalescing aid for latex paints.
Due to its slow evaporation rate and low water solubility, it is suitable for use as a solvent in screen-printing inks, as well as in coatings for polystyrene and printing glazes. It can also function as an azeotropic agent for the separation of alcohols and ketones.
It is well-suited for use in high-end coatings, such as those applied to automobiles, television sets, refrigerators, and aircraft.
