Tert-butyl hydroquinone Application:
1. Used as an antioxidant: At a concentration of 0.01% to 1.0%, it is a very effective antioxidant for unstable organic liquids (such as chlorinated hydrocarbons, oils, ethers and aldehydes). In certain instances, Tert-butyl hydroquinone (MTBHQ) demonstrates greater potency than hydroquinone.
2. Tert-butyl hydroquinone (MTBHQ) is a very effective polymerization inhibitor for the storage of unsaturated polyesters and other polymerizable organic materials. Studies have shown that Tert-butyl hydroquinone (MTBHQ) is highly effective at inhibiting polymerization under normal storage conditions;
3. Used as a stabilizer: at a concentration of 0.5%, Tert-butyl hydroquinone (MTBHQ) is a good photothermal stabilizer for pressure-sensitive adhesives made from polyester. Reports indicate that Tert-butyl hydroquinone (MTBHQ) outperforms similar products when used as a stabilizer.
