Polyethylene Glycol Applications
Polyethylene Glycol (PEG) products can be used in pharmaceuticals. Lower molecular weight PEGs can be used as solvents, co-solvents, O/W emulsifiers, and stabilizers in the production of cement suspensions, emulsions, and injections. They are also used as bases for water-soluble ointments and suppositories. Higher molecular weight solid waxy PEGs are often used to increase the viscosity and solidification of low molecular weight liquid PEG, and to compensate for other drugs. For drugs that are not easily soluble in water, this product can be used as a carrier for solid dispersants to achieve solid dispersion.
Liquid PEG (200-600) offer a wide range of hygroscopic options, making them particularly suitable for plasticizers and rubber additives. They can be used in the preparation of surfactants, paints and inks, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, cleaning agents, papermaking, textiles, food additives, leather processing, oil extraction, wood processing, ceramics, agriculture, electroplating, photographic materials, adhesives, and packaging materials.
Polyethylene Glycol (PEG-200) can be used as a medium for organic synthesis and a heat transfer medium with high requirements.
In the daily chemical industry, it is used as a humectant, inorganic salt solubilizer, and viscosity modifier;
In the textile industry, it is used as a softener and antistatic agent;
and In the paper and pesticide industries, it is used as a wetting agent.
