N-Valeraldehyde Applications
N-Valeraldehyde is an important intermediate in organic synthesis. Its hydrogenation yields pentanol, which can be used to produce diammonium dithiophosphate, a raw material for lubricating oil additives. Oxidation of n-Valental yields valeric acid, which can be used as a raw material in the synthesis of cosmetics and fragrances. Furthermore, N-Valeraldehyde can react with polyols to synthesize lubricating greases. N-Valeraldehyde is also a raw material for the synthesis of 2-propyl-1-heptanol (2-PH), a good organic solvent used in the production of plasticizers and surfactants.
N-Valeraldehyde Storage:
The product should be stored in a cool, ventilated, and dry place. The storage temperature should not exceed the ambient temperature. It should be kept away from fire and heat sources and should be protected against static electricity. It should not be stored with strong oxidants or strong acids.
