L-Ascorbic Acid Applications
L-Ascorbic Acid contains numerous highly polar functional groups, carboxyl and hydroxyl groups. These groups, through surface-active effects such as adsorption, dispersion, and wetting, provide dispersion and flow properties to cement particles. They also increase the workability of fresh concrete by reducing frictional resistance between cement particles and lowering the free energy at the cement particle-water interface.
When L-Ascorbic Acid is compounded with a carboxylic acid-based high-efficiency water-reducing agent, the dosage can be reduced under the same quality conditions, and it exhibits good compatibility with other admixtures.
