Production Method: Produced by esterification and refining of phthalic acid and isononyl alcohol.
Key Properties:
1. Diisononyl phthalate has a lower volatile weight loss than Bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (CAS 117-81-7) DOP and a similar intrinsic viscosity to DOP, though it will be higher when used alone.
2. DINP is more suitable for plastic processing, exhibiting better viscosity stability, allowing for seamless dispersion and foaming, and possesses a lower melting temperature. As a PVC coating adhesive, it has the lowest initial viscosity and minimal viscosity fluctuation.
3. DINP has low volatility and excellent low-temperature flexibility, but is slightly inferior to DIDP.
Application Guide:
Diisononyl phthalate is primarily used for PVC. Products made with it are also widely used in toy films, wires, and cables due to their excellent water and extractable resistance, low toxicity, and excellent electrical insulation properties.
Applications include:
Industrial films, tarpaulins, roofing sheets, floor coverings and wallpaper, compounding materials (primarily cable materials), specialty fibers and artificial leather adhesives, coatings, solvents, packaging films, pipes, and profiles.
