Coconut Monoethanolamide Application

This product belongs to the alkanolamide class of nonionic surfactants. It possesses excellent foaming properties, foam stability, and thickening properties, as well as good degreasing power, wetting properties, penetrating power, and hard water resistance. It is also readily biodegradable.

This product is almost insoluble in water but soluble in aqueous solutions of other surfactants. It has a significant thickening effect in liquid detergents and can be used in various detergents, cosmetics, and additives, particularly suitable for ammonium salt and sulfosuccinate systems.

Adding 1% monoethanolamide to a typical liquid detergent formulation can achieve a viscosity that reaches or exceeds that of a formulation with 2%–3% 6501 added, and can reduce the amount of inorganic salts used for viscosity adjustment. The recommended dosage in the formulation is 0.5–2%.
