Benzene,1,4-bis(1-methylethyl)-,homopolymer Main Use:
Plastic Flame Retardant Synergist:
This is the most renowned antimony-free and halogen-free flame retardant synergist. Typically used in combination with brominated flame retardants or polyphenylene ether (PPO), it significantly elevates the flame retardancy rating of polymers—such as High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS), PP, and PE—while simultaneously allowing for a substantial reduction in the required dosage of the flame retardant itself.
Crosslinking and Grafting Initiator:
Due to its molecular structure, it readily generates highly stable free radicals at elevated temperatures. It is commonly employed as a high-temperature crosslinking agent for polyolefins (such as polyethylene) or as a grafting initiator in plastic modification processes; furthermore, it offers superior safety compared to conventional organic peroxides.
Processing Modifier for Rubber and Resins:
During the processing of specific types of rubber and thermoplastic resins, this additive enhances melt flow properties and functions as a stabilizer to prevent thermal degradation.
