5-methyl-2-isopropylphenol is a natural monoterpenoid phenol, crystalline and colorless, with a characteristic odor. It is also an isomer with carvacrol and is the principal active ingredient of oil extracted from the species Thynus vulgaris, commonly known as thyme.
