Uses of Phthalic Anhydride

1. Phthalic anhydride is used to produce phthalate plasticizers, such as dioctyl phthalate (DOP), dibutyl phthalate (DBP), isooctyl, cyclohexyl and Mixed esters, etc.

2. Phthalic anhydride is used in the production of alkyd resin and amino resin coatings.

3. Phthalic anhydride is used in the production of unsaturated polyester, and in the dye industry to synthesize anthraquinone.

4. Phthalic anhydride synthesizes phthalocyanine blue BS, phthalocyanine blue BX, phthalocyanine blue B and other pigments in pigment production.

5. Phthalic anhydride is used in the preparation of phenolphthalein in the pharmaceutical industry.

6. Phthalic anhydride is used in the production of intermediates such as imidophos in the production of pesticides.
